As I said before: “Interesting moments for a minister are those moments where he shows with an action that the well-being of each person is important. A minister must always keep his word and take into account the community he serves in every decision”. The situation in Curaçao is a challenge for all of us. One of the biggest challenges I have encountered, as Minister of Finance, was the fact that in 2017, when I became Minister of Finance, the annual reports from 2014 to 2016 were still not approved. Today I can say with pride and satisfaction that in the year 2020, we have received approval from the Parliament of Curaçao for the annual reports 2014 to 2018. With this I have complied with the budget process that must be followed, in accordance with our State regulations. During the first quarter of 2021, I will do my utmost to get the 2019 annual report approved. I would like to thank the Ministry of Finance as a whole for the good work they have done in order to achieve this together. This is a great achievement for Curaçao, I hope that in the future I can continue to contribute to this positive development and that Curaçao will not end up again in such a situation in the future.
